My husband and I do this full-time, so we are home all day almost every day, making us available last minute.  There's also usually a group of other guests, which varies from weekday to weekend and based on the season.

I find they all get along really well most of the time and form great friendships and get a lot of exercise and playtime socialization in.  We just make sure everything stays clean and that everyone is being nice to each other, not too loud, etc.
